iOS Cached Map

  • Obtain or create a cached background map formatted for GeoSync Go. If MapSync has provided this data, it should already be formatted correctly in a folder named GeoSync Go. If downloading this folder, save it somewhere that it will be easy to find again (i.e. the desktop). Please note: Creating your own cached map will not be covered in this document.

  • Download a free iOS utility program named DiskAid (Windows, Mac). If iTunes is not installed on your computer, you will need to install it before using DiskAid. This program helps manage files located on your iOS device.

  • After installation, launch DiskAid. Close the Welcome window, and you will see a prompt to connect your device. Using your iOS USB cable, plug your device into an open USB port on your computer.

  • You will now see a menu in the far left column. Expand the Apps section and then click on GeoSync Go.

  • In the toolbar at the top, click on the Copy to Device button.

  • In the popup dialog, click the folder button.

  • Navigate to the location where you saved the GeoSync Go folder, highlight the folder and click the OK button.

  • DiskAid will now upload the contents of the folder to your device. CAUTION: Wait until the process is complete before unplugging your device or closing the program.

  • After the upload is complete, open the GeoSync Go app on your mobile device and view the settings. ¬†Choose the drive letter where the cache map is stored and close the menu.
